Why can’t I connect my personal Facebook profile?
You will no longer be able to connect your personal Facebook profile to your Snappa account. Facebook has recently implemented several changes (effective July 26th, 2018) to prevent spam and misuse of its platform. The changes affect the API and with the update, you will no longer be able to connect your personal profile with third party applications such as Snappa and Buffer. With that being said, you will still be able to connect and post to your Facebook business pages with Snappa and Buffer.
Difference Between Facebook Business Page And Facebook Personal Profiles?
According to Facebook, there are many benefits to having a Facebook business page over a personal profile. These benefits include:
- Facebook Business pages are meant for businesses and brands. The pages provide more features for you to connect with your consumer and audiences.
- As a Facebook business page, you have access to analytics and page insights so that you can monitor performance. The insights give you key metrics like viewer demographics and engagement.
- With a business page, you don't need to be the only one running it. You can give access to multiple users to post and run the page.
- You have the ability to create ads and promote your posts via paid Facebook advertising like "Boost Posts."
We understand that a change like this can cause for several inconveniences especially for users who have been relying on Snappa's integration with Facebook Personal profiles previously. However, this is Facebook’s decision to remove personal profile integration so we must modify our service to comply with their new policies.
